Poetic Cardboard

  • I like how the final outcomes gave off a very 'retro' vibe and found that they ended up being quite comical, with the addition of the typical statements of a university student when shopping or just out and about (something my friends and I definitely say quite a bit) serving as an oxymoron to the photograph it is placed on.

Came in late, as I was ill in the morning, thus did not have as much time to work on the project as the rest; only managed to do the screen printing of the black areas.Could have refined the illustration a bit more Also due to the detailing of my letter idea, it was a bit tricky cutting out the areas, and I had to be very patient cutting it out, so that I wouldn't cut my fingers or tear the paper due to any sudden, harsh movement.

Initially misinterpreted the letter task, thinking that I was supposed to re-screen print the letter, when I was supposed to work around the letter

  • How well did you manage your time today?
    • Quite well, managed to finish everything before the deadline. Thought that I would run into some issues with completion due to the minor problems faced when arranging the letters in the location, as the letters kept swinging around and thus I got some shots that had the letters barely legible.
      • I resolved this by increasing the tension of the string holding up the letters.
  • What did you learn from the process of looking at, and discussing other's work?
    • The different intentions and interpretations of the various areas in the building
  • How can you use this learning to evaluate your own outcome?
    • Evaluate my own interpretation and adaptation of the area I chose, and see how I could have taken my idea a step further
