Questions

  • What was your experience of working in a group?
    • Fun, interesting and eyeopening with the accumulation and discussion of everyone's different ideas and thoughts of the three words given to us.
  • How did the Library Research task inform your visualisations?
    • Some of the research helped reinforce certain visualisations as we already knew around what kind of subject area we wanted to further research on (i.e: Corsets, female fashion history), and some of the research was a new discovery, as we happened upon it whilst browsing through the selection of books.
  • Has the collaborative thinking effected your own decision?
    • Yes, in terms of the researching process and what to particularly look into, as we allocated something for each of us to research into. Sometimes, when we would find each other, we would suggest looking in another area or looking into something else more specific.
    • No, in terms of creating the concepts for the individual visualisations for the individual tasks, as I wanted to make sure I didn't become influenced by what my teammate was doing.
  • Which final pitch was your favourite and why?
    • My favourite final pitch was the pitch that detailed the concept of traversing through two different stairways to represent the upperclass and lower class in this interactive art piece. It was my favourite, as I liked the concept of the installation, and how it transforms into a very sensory experience, with its interaction with the audience.
  • Has your first week at CSM taught you new skills?
    • Rather than teach, it has allowed me to explore more ideas and concepts, compared to school which somewhat forced one to focus and narrow down on potential concepts that you could pursue as a final piece.
  • Is your experience as expected?
    • Not really, as I hadn't really expected the final task of choosing an idea that got filtered through various group discussions, and then the development process of the final idea.
      • This is also because I hadn't expected my idea to be the very final idea for my group, as there were a lot of other lovely ideas that my group mates had.
