The Handson - Crime Data visualisation

A striking display of Manhattan's crime data in an interactive, animated map, showing the viewers crime hot spot areas, as well as payphone locations to potentially notify the police of any crime incidents in their area.

The Handson - 'The Treasures of the Aga Khan'

I like how this installation invited the audience to create their own geometric patterns on a special app to inform the museum goers about Islamic patterns in a modern, fun way. I feel like this was a successful installation, as there is no singular audience demographic, as this fun yet informative customisation interaction could be for every visitor passing by this particular exhibition. This customisation of the pattern would also make the experience gained from the installation more memorable, as it becomes something more personal and very unique, as it is one's own pattern that one created themselves on the app, not anyone else's.

The Handson - 'I m Perfect'

I like how this graphic design piece encourages the audience to open up anonymously about their physical insecurities through a website, only to collate and annotate them as you would with a scientific illustration, on this skeleton specifically moulded after all the responses they were given, thus amplifying this as a dramatic presentation of social anxieties and insecurities.

The Handson - 'The Bamberger Group'

A fun way to visually present estate sales and each property's surrounding area, as if the viewer was playing a video game that involved buying estates. I think this was a successful example of interactive graphic design, as it makes a seemingly stressful and calculative task appear more engaging and exciting, using this idea of incorporating a style that was inspired by video games.

Kin Design - 'Maths-- No Problem!'

The direction of the illustration style and simplistic layout design with additional internal illustrations for these Maths textbooks being more bright and cheerful would definitely fit their target demographic being children, thus successfully communicating to their audience in an engaging manner without the utilisation of sound or movement.
